Synopsis

Directed by Matías Piñeiro, one of Argentina's most sensuous and daring new voices, "Viola" is a mystery of romantic entanglements and intrigues among a troupe of young actors in a small theater in Buenos Aires performing Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night."

Reviews

"A triumph of narrative imagination and bottom-line ingenuity."
- Manohla Dargis, The New York Times

"Seductive... Beguiling... At once devilishly complicated and perfectly simple. There is an elegance to Mr. Piñeiro's visual style, a sinuous precision to his camera work... An excellent introduction to this filmmaker's work."
- A.O. Scott, The New York Times

"Wondrous. Playfully enigmatic."
- Tomas Hachard, NPR

"Sumptuous. So vividly realized that it seems to spill over the edges of the frame."
- Calum Marsh, Village Voice

"Superb. Incredibly seductive."
- Gary M. Kramer, Indiewire

"One of international cinema's most unique new voices."
- Paul Dallas, Interview Magazine
